A personal project with a purpose.
TypePOT didn't start in a boardroom or as part of a big company's roadmap. It started with problems I faced in my own daily work with fonts.
Scrolling through large font collections could consume more system resources than I expected. Missing characters would appear as tofu. I would sometimes forget a font's name just when I needed it most. And occasionally, corrupted font files would get in the way of my workflow.
These were small frustrations individually, but together, they made working with fonts more difficult than it needed to be.
So I decided to build something of my own.
I started TypePOT as an independent developer, driven by a simple idea: font management should feel comfortable, efficient, and reliable. Finding the right font should be easier. Managing a growing collection shouldn't get in the way of creativity. And working with different characters should be less frustrating.
TypePOT is an ongoing journey, built one improvement at a time, with the goal of making everyday work with fonts a little better.
